Cloudspots lashed her tail. Her eyes glittered with pain and anger.
"It wouldn't do much now. I hardly let her do anything around camp. All I got to was teaching her a few of the herbs and their uses and nothing else! How can I forgive myself! A mouse-brained excuse for a Medicine Cat!" She snarled at herself.

"If my father was still Medicine Cat the clan may actually be a clan instead of a group of broken cats!" She hissed. Then she bowed her head again. "But I still need to make the best of it," she meowed only to herself. "As long as I have hope my clan will survive...." Her voice trailed away and she gazed into the darkness.

Hawkclaw rested her tail on Cloudspots back "You are a great medicine cat and your clan needs you more than ever" she mewed

Cloudspots rose to her paws with a soft sigh. Looking into Hawkclaw's eyes, she meowed,
"We need to warn our clans of this danger. If we don't, that will make it even worse," she murmured.

Cloudspots got ready to pad out of the cave, but then she stopped and looked back up.
"Thank you, Hawkclaw," she meowed. Then she padded out of the cave, head and tail dragging, her heart heavy with sorrow. Why did she have to die so early?
