Sneaking

Sunlight dappled the forest. Trees swayed, the thick branches more then a match for the weak breeze. Below, small rodents scampered about, wary, for the slightest scent of food or predators. Though green and bright, the bitter bite of winter, chilled the atmosphere, a warning, for the cold season of leaf-bare ahead. Padding among the undergrowth, was a lilac-spotted she-cat, her tail held high, head arched, cool green eyes glowing, ears erect. Her paws made not a sound, on the thick cover of Pine needles. The she-cat pricked her ears, a noise. Carefully, the cat slinked into the undergrowth, cool green eyes narrowed to slits.

Blade scanned her surroundings, every muscle tense. She waited in silence, worry gleaming in her brilliant green orbs. Not another cat in sight. She forced her fur to lie flat, another false warning. Why was she so jumpy today? Everything was going according to the plan. But, she could not shake off her feeling of unease.

Not far off another cat crouched, slowly he creeped towards his next meal. the tiny paws scuffeled among the beech seeds, his pretator watching, bunching up his musels he pounced nipping it in the back of the neck. the winner stood up the loser dangeling from his watering mouth. then a new scent drifted over to him, another cat but not a member of mistclan. he hid behind a bramble bush, watching the stranger waiting for the right moment to pop out and scare away the intruder.

Blade waited in silence. Feeling a pair of eyes boring into her pelt, she froze. Experimentally, she tasted the air. The strong scent of fish almost sent her reeling. She wrinkled her pale pink nose in disgust. Only one clan had such a nauseating stench like that. She twitched her thin whiskers in amusement. "Oh well, I was beginning to become bored" she thought. This MistClan feline would get more then it bargained for. She began to pad away, slender frame slipping through the undergrowth with ease. "Now, to make the Clan cat furious!", she thought impishly. there was a slight flicker in the grass, a mouse. Quick as a striking cobra, she leaped, pinning the unfortunate rodent with razor-sharp claws. It was all over before the startled creature could blink. Then, as if it had all been for a lark, she started sauntering back to whence she came, the plump mouse dangling limply from between her fangs.

that pushed needleclaw over the edge he bounded out of hiding and flung himself at the strange cat yowling a battle cry. he cought her off guard and unbalenced her sending falling to the groung wih a thump pinning her down. " what are you doing in my territory, stealing my mistclan's pray?" the giant tom damanded fury burning in his eyes.

"this cat was intruding in our territory, then stole our pray!" he growled the hostility still raged through his voice

"but no answer yet to anything i asked" needleclaw said rolling his eyes impatiently

Yes, please, even hunting on clan territory is no excuse. Besides, saying you caught my cat off guard is power-playing. I did not give anyone permission to have her loose balance. If not, I could have wrote that my cat pinned YOURS down.

The silvery-spotted she-cat draped the fresh-kill over a patch of reeds, ready at the slightest movement, to fight this clan cat or to do what she did best, escape, but not on the forest floor, fast and agile as she was, she did not want to risk her skin for the sake of showing off. Noticing a flowering Sugar Maple branch, she tensed. With a leap worthy of SkyClan, she flew through the air, landing lightly on her paws. She grinned wickedly. There was no feline alive, Clan or Kittypet, who could catch her in her domain. She bounded from limb to branch, barely causing a rustle. Once at the highest point, she relaxed visibly. Baring her pearly white fangs in a silent laugh, she grinned,If this mouse-brained clan cat ever decided to follow her, he would be sorry he had ever dared.
