Gingerpelt trotted out of the warrior's den, refreshed and ready to train her apprentice. She looked around the clearing and found that Skypaw was net there. Still asleep. she thought. I can fix that! Gingerpelt walked into the apprentice's den, and saw the little cat snoozing. Skypaw was the only cat there. "Wake up fur ball!" yowled Gingerpelt loudly. Skypaw shot to her paws, bristling. "I think we should do some training." the deputy meowed to the younger cat. Skypaw shook her self and padded out of the den after her mentor.

Dawncloud padded out of the warrior's den wide awake at a loud yowl. She spotted Skypaw and Gingerpelt padding away from the apprentices den. "So that was you who yowled!" Dawncloud teased. "I was trying to get some sleep after the gathering if you didn't mind," She mewed to the Lightclan deputy. She twitched her whiskers good humordly. "Anyway, good morning Gingerpelt, Skypaw." Dawncloud nodded at the small apprentice.

"Morning!" Skypaw piped. She was completely happy, even after her interesting wake up call. "Good Morning Dawncloud." meowed Gingerpelt friendly. "I am sorry I woke you up." Skypaw flicked her tail to the forest and said, "I am going out for some training with Gingerpelt, want to come help?" Gingerpelt looked at the apprentice and smiled. "I was just going to offer." she laughed. "Do you want to?" she added to Dawncloud.

"I doubt I'll be getting back to sleep anytime soon," Dawncloud grumbled. For some reason she was always grumpy after a gathering. "Sure. I'll have to stretch my legs anyway." Dawncloud had always had a special interest in the training of young cats. She felt it was part of her duty as a warrior to defend their young cats and keep them from harm.

Gingerpelt led the three cats to the small clearing for training. She turned to face Skypaw and Dawncloud. "Skypaw, attack me." she instructed the apprentice. Skypaw lunged an attack, and as Gingerpelt shifted to move, the younger cat flipped around and landed squarely on her back. It was a move Gingerpelt had taught her. The mentor smiled."Dawncloud, would you through an attack at Skypaw now?" Gingerpelt asked the she-cat, a little breathless.

Dawncloud nodded. She sprang, aiming for Skypaw's back, but looking at her paws. It her move went as planned, Skypaw would try to dodge onto her back when Dawncloud was close enough. Then she would be able to land on her side. She also knew Skypaw could easily choose another defense while she leaped.

Skypaw saw the other cat jump, and took a risk. She lunged under Dawncloud, and spun around to see where the cat had landed. Gingerpelt was pleased. The cat might not have made an attempt at the counter attack, but her deffence was impeccable. "Where did you learn that one?" she asked Skypaw jokingly. "I don't know, but I thought it would work, so I tried. Better learn if it works or doesn't here, than on the battle field." she purred. Skypaw looked at Dawncloud again.

Dawncloud shook herself and straightened up again. "Well done," she praised Skypaw. "If you were really fighting an enemy warrior they'd not know what hit them." She looked at Gingerpelt, saw the pride sparkling in her eyes, and wondered what it must feel like to train an apprentice. "You trained her well!" She added to gingerpelt.

"Thanks!" Gingerpelt smiled. "But I didn't teach her that one!" Gingerpelt knew Dawncloud must want an apprentice. She would have to speak with Lilystar about that.
Sorry short!

"We should try a different move," Dawncloud suggested. "Maybe she could try a double attack. She seems ready right now doesn't she?" Dawncloud asked. By the way she has seen Gingerpelt train Skypaw, the young apprentice seemed ready to take on anything!

"That is a great idea!" Gingerpelt purred. "Do you think you are ready?" she asked Skypaw. "Yes!." the young she cat meowed energetically. Gingerpelt launched at Skypaw, who dodged to left, and spun around to meet Dawncloud head on.

Dawncloud raised her paw, ready to cuff Skypaw away with sheathed claws. She remembered her first training session when she had attacked her mentor with unsheathed claws. she had accidently injured him then. She didn't want to do that again no matter how funny that was.

Skypaw lifted her paw and the two paws clashed. It was an odd block, but she moved away so quick, the awkward moment was hardly seen.
Gingerpelt smiled. "There is another move I don't remember showing you." she meowed to the apprentice. "I think it is good though, because it is unique, and might distract the opponent. That puts you a second ahead in moves." she finished.
Skypaw looked at Dawncloud, to see how she took things.

Dawncloud blinked slightly at the odd mood, but then she shook herself to see Gingerpelt looking at her. "What?" She meowed, looking at each other their faces. "What's going on?"

Gingerpelt and Skypaw purred. "Looks like you're not all in the fight!" Gingerpelt laughed. Skypaw smiled and flicked Dawncloud's ear with her tail.
