Description-Aquapaw is not really large, but she isn't extremely tiny either. She is barely smaller then the average WindClan cat. Unfortunately, Aquapaw is not a member of WindClan. She tends to be more lanky and sturdy then muscular, though her muscles are like liquid steel, all beauty, elegance, and grace. Her body is lean like an Oriental, but her head, tail, and paws are like a tabby, built for speed, and can run for long distances. Aquapaw is not your ordinary run-of-the-mill feline. Her pelt gleams with health and has a luster like a pearl. Dense and fluffy, fleas cannot penetrate her pelt. Her fur is short and sleek, yet comfortable in Leaf-bare and Greenleaf. Not only is her fur soft and thick, but its waterproof too. Her pelt sheds rain like a Holly leaf or Mallard.
Her fur has a backdrop of golden agouti, overlaid with jet black stripes, rippling down from her neck. She has the typical trademark "Oysters" on her flank and obvious "Butterflies" on her shoulders. Each follicle of hair on her pelt makes an alternating pattern of banded hairs and solid ones. Her muzzle and chin are a delicate white, striking against her "old rose" colored nose. She has thin, yet sturdy, pure white whiskers which she uses to gauge the size of small spaces and tell where to bite prey.
Ebony lines are penciled from the far corners of her eyes to her erect, slightly feathery ears, just an inch away from her tabby "M". She has ocean-blue/green orbs. Her eyes are a blend of turquoise and aqua, crystalline and lively. Around her eyes is thin mascara-like pitch-dark fur. Aquapaw always keeps her black claws razor-sharp, ready for anything, hunting or fighting. Her rock-hard pads allow Aquapaw to climb boulders with ease. She has long legs and a slim body, able to weave in and out of tight spaces quickly. Though her paws are dainty, she can swipe powerfully and accurately. Aquapaw tail is banded, like the rest of her pelt. Her tail is half the size of her body. The tip of her tail is coal black. Whether using it for balance or curling up to sleep, she relies on her tail for many things.
Personality-Humble, but with an undeniable zest for life, Aquapaw finds light in the bleakest of situations. She uncovers the good in everyone and loves cheering others up. There is something about her, something simple, that drives her every action. Optimism. Always seeming excited and joyful, Aquapaw knows how to cultivate the image of a simpleminded cat. She knows how to hide unease and anger with a calm exterior. To her, getting angry just wastes energy and time.
Aquapaw seems to have her own private spotlight. A favorite of the elders, just her presence lightens the world. She knows the right words to say to calm a cranky elder, or convince a kit to take medicine. Aquapaw would have made a good medicine cat, but there was already an apprentice chosen. Aquapaw lives in hope of becoming an excellent warrior.
Quick-witted and clever, Aquapaw has a burning curiosity to know everything. This desire leads her to eavesdropping on her clanmates. Because of her open expression sprightly personality, many cats pour out their troubles to her. Secrets find her all the time. Since kit-hood, she has listened to others hopes and desires.
She enjoys simple pleasures, a full belly, sunny rocks and time to hunt and train. SunningRocks, is one of her favorite places. When she sits on the smooth stone, all her troubles evaporate. As a kit, she would practice climbing and jumping. Aquapaw has a strange tolerance for heat, making her able to climb hot boulders without scorching her paws.
Though she is enthusiastic and kind, Aquapaw has a deadly secret. When she starts fighting, she can't seem to stop. Her pure aqua eyes become scarlet, as she loses control of her limbs and mind. This mainly happens when someone she cares for is in mortal danger. Her vision is blotted out in a wave of red. Later on, she has nightmares and observes the havoc she caused. Aquapaw lives in constant fear of discovery. Last time it had happened, the results were catastrophic.
History Aquapaw's mother was a healer of the WaterPath. She was apart of the Tribe Of Shifting Sands. What the others did not know was that she had fallen in love with an enemy Tribe cat. Remaining ignorant to the tension in the Tribe, Sun Ray Over Still Water, continued caring for her kits and Tribe-Members.
History Continued-The day was bright and sunny. Many cats dozed about upon sun-warmed stones, the heat making them all pleasantly lazy. Draped above the stones, were the lofty, emerald, saw-toothed fronds of palm trees, partially covering the ground below in shade. To the left of the palm trees were small, limestone caves, each big enough for a feline to squeeze through. Barely sticking out of the entrances, were sticks, leaves, and sweet-smelling grasses, tumbled haphazardly. From the largest entrance, came a small, brown paw, soon followed by an ebony striped body. The cat blinked her brilliant blue eyes slowly, savoring the fresh air and warmth on her over-tired limbs and muscles. "Good Day Shine Sun Ray Over Still Water!", a familiar voice meowed calmly. SunRay dipped her head. "And may the sun shine on you Whirling of a Russet Leaf", she called, finishing the ancient greeting. Whirling of a Russet Leaf grinned. "How are your kits?", he whispered urgently. "They are little bundles of mischief!”, retorted SunRay playfully. Relief shone in Whirling of a Russet Leaf's gray eyes. "Thank the burning ray of glory!", he meowed happily. "Tail of a Broken Palm told me your kits will be Named tonight!" SunRay nodded, worry in her azure-colored eyes. She cuffed him on the shoulder playfully. "Thanks Whirlie!", she meowed impishly. "Hey", he grumbled. "Whirlie is my kit name!" SunRay smiled inwardly, she loved rubbing her little brother's fur the wrong way! "Do you want to see the kits?", she asked shyly. "Would I ever!", he meowed enthusiastically. "But", his eyes clouded over, "I can't!, Thats against the Code!" "By The Light Bringer's Whiskers!" ,she purred approvingly, "Finally you have learned the meaning of the code!" "Soon, you will have your ceremony!" "What color do you think my eyes will change to?", he meowed curiously. "Not blue, that's for sure!",SunRay meowed,"You do not have the Patience to tread the WaterPath!", "Maybe you will walk the WarriorPath!" "True", murmured Whirling of a Russet Leaf thoughtfully, "Yellow would look great with my gray fur!" A piercing yowl echoed out of nowhere. "That Shrieker could wake the dead!", muttered Whirling of a Russet Leaf. Both cats raced away, into the unknown.
Whirling of a Russet Leaf padded on, his normally sleek fur matted with sweat, gray eyes dull with exhaustion and the horror he had witnessed. But, he was not alone, straggling behind trotted a young kit. The poor kit was mewing pitifully, terror showing in her aqua orbs. The meeting had gone smoothly, with the Bright One congratulating everyone on the raiding of the Blackfeet Tribe...
SunRay ray seemed uneasy, casting worried glances around her. She was sitting in a large group felines arranged in a semi-circle around a jagged outcrop. Beside her was her brother, Whirling of a Russet Leaf. "But what if they found out?", she inwardly fretted. "Whirie!", she whispered,"Find me some Island mint,NOW!" "Okay sis", he said, confused. But because of the look on her face, he knew she was not joking. Quick as a whip, he sped away, into the shadows.SunRay heaved a sigh of relief, what ever would happen, her brother would be safe. From behind her came a soft mewing. Three young kits padded warily into the semi-circle of cats, guided by two old, tabby toms. One gray kit padded away from his fellows into the center, paws wobbly and unsteady. The other two kits quickly padded over to their sibling. Peached calmly on the stone outcrop, sat a golden tom. His fur gleamed with faint stripes and the moonlight above. Unlike most cats, his eyes were a fiery orange. The cat gave a sharp yowl, shattering the cool, night air. Dead silence all around. The cat meowed solemnly,"It is time for the Naming" The air filled with tension and anticipation. he continued,"It is time, for three kits to leave their mother!" His eyes locked onto SunRay. "Do you, Sun Ray Over Still Water, believe your kits worthy of being apart of the Tribe Of Shifting Sands!" "I do Bright One", SunRay replied. "Then, with the consent of the Light Bringer", the Bright One paused. From the ground, came a rumbling like thunder. Suddenly, the earth started shaking. "Look", a she-cat yowled in fear. The Bright One leaped away, just in time. With a mighty blast, lava and ash spewed out of the outcrop, covering the living cats in a layer of stinging ash. The Bright One gazed about in terror. Without warning, a cat materialized at the top of the volcano. It's fur glowed with heat of magma, and it's eyes shone with the brilliance of the sun. The crowd moaned, "Light Bringer, Light Bringer!" The otherworldly cat snarled, anger coming off of him like white-hot sparks. His paws were as dark as ash and gleamed like obsidian. "The Great One is ANGRY!!", he growled. "Someone has broken the Code!" The crowd fell into deathly silence. "Sun Ray Over Still Water, COME HERE!", he commanded. SunRay was pushed to the middle by the crowd. "Sun Ray Over Still Water!", "Who is the father of these kits!", he ordered. SunRay felt her mouth move on it's own accord,"Storm", she whispered. Angry yowls came from the crowd. "Storm is a Blackfeet cat, that is against the Code", he purred silkily. "You and the impure kits must suffer the consequences!" SunRay gasped in horror,"Mercy, Please!, If not for me for the kits!", she pleaded. Her paws moved as she tried to stop the mental onslaught. Step by step, her unwilling paws lead her to the rim of the volcano. "Wait", he said harshly. SunRay allowed a glimmer of hope. He smiled cruelly,"Let her watch her kits die first!" SunRay's hope extinguished. "What!", "Impossible!" SunRay was fighting back. She knew she could not hold the mental onslaught any longer. "Light Bringer!", she yowled, "I defy YOU!!" And with a graceful leap, she dived into the volcano. "A pity", he said nonchalantly, "I was hoping for more fun!!" He whipped around to face the terrified kits. Two kits scurried up the volcano. With a small plop, both kits fell, shrieking after their mother. "Time for the last one", hissed Light Bringer cruelly. He met the kit's eyes, trying to mentally force her to move. He peered into the kit's aqua eyes. "YOU..Will...OBEY....ME!, he shrieked, shocked at the kit's resilience. The kit locked eyes with him. Still nothing. To Light Bringer's horror, a flicker of scarlet appeared in the kit's aqua orbs. "NO", Light Bringer whispered,"It can't be!" The kit's eyes were no longer aqua, but scarlet.
When Whirling of a Russet Leaf returned,he saw the whole Tribe, slaughtered. He was badly shaken. He nosed around the cold, lifeless bodies. There, smack in the middle of the semicircle, was a small tabby kitten. He gave her tabby fur a tentative lick. The kitten opened her aqua eyes.

The aqua-eyed she-cat surveyed her surroundings, not a cat in sight. Her paws moved soundlessly on the soft yellow sand below.Water, she must find water, The desert heat, so cool when she started, beat down mercilessly on her striped pelt. Her paws ached with weariness and her tongue hung limply from her dust-coated mouth. She forced her unwilling limbs to keep padding, reddish nose pointed hopefully to the sky, desperate, for the faintest scent of water or prey. No longer the young scared kit who left her home, the feline's pelt may still have been kit soft, but her muscles were hardened by hardship. Shadows of a haunted past flickered, in her aqua orbs. Suddenly, her paws slipped out, sending her flat on her belly. Instead of trying to get up, she lay there. A feeling of peace crept over her. Sounds dimmed. She could sense her heart slowing, each beat further apart then the last. To her shock, a dark shape blotted out her vision. She tried to move her moisture-starved vocal cords. "Ma", she rasped weakly. Darkness crashed over her like a black wave.
"Whisper", "is she awake?", a curious voice called. "Be patient Weed", someone purred. The aqua-eyed she-cat opened her eyes groggily. At the sound of the voices she sprang awake, hackles up, ears horizontal, claws slipping out of velvety sheaths. She uttered, what she hoped was a fearsome snarl. Her muscles to weak to support her, she collapsed into a thin stupor. The events of the past moon flooded her mind in a rush of confused, disjointed images. A soft groan came from her parched throat."Drink up", meowed a soft voice. To the she-cat's surprise, a spiky leaf was placed in front of her nose. Collected in the center of the leaf lay a pool of crystal-clear water. The feline lapped at the puddle greedily, as strength entered her skinny frame. "Drink slowly", cautioned the voice, "you are safe here" The aqua-eyed cat lifted her head, finally getting an adequate look at her surroundings. She was sitting in some kind of burrow, reddish clay walls on either side. In a corner, lay bunches of dried plants, neatly stacked in an orderly fasion. Pricking her ears, she could hear the steady drip, drip, of water on stone. The entrance seemed to be a tunnel leading up. The she-cat spun around, just in time to see a golden feline slip out of the tunnel. Her fur gleamed in the hues of the desert sand, all except for one foot, which was as black as ebony. "Are you alright" , meowed the golden feline. "I am Whisper, Healer of the Blackfeet Tribe", "and you are, the cat paused. The aqua-eyed she-cat stared directly at Whisper. "I have no name", she meowed simply. Whisper shifted nervously under the she-cat's piercing, unerving gaze. "By Swiftleaf", she thought,"there is something odd about that feline" Would you like to see the camp?", meowed Whisper abruptly. The stranger dipped her head politely, "Yes, thanks" "Storm will give you a Tribe name at sundown" The stranger stiffened at the name, though her aqua eyes betrayed no hidden emotion. "Follow me", instructed Whisper. Both she-cats padded into the tunnel, never knowing what lay ahead.
Shard froze, her aqua eyes slitted against the stinging sand, ears flat with anoyance. Everytime she moved, her paws sank into the soft sands beneath her. It was a blessing that her pads were not scorched by burning ground. She could smell the hare, strong, like a neon sign, pointing to the warren where the helpless creature laired. shard could barely stop from creeping into the warren and killing the hare. Words of causion came, unbidden to her mind. "Never go down an unknown burrow", she had been told, "you never know what else might be there" She had said yes then, but seeing it for real, she began to have doubts. Shard sighed, if she wanted to live here, she had better start learning the rules. While she had been pondering, the hare began to sneak out of the burrow. Shard tensed, her claws slippiing out in reddiness. She slightly wiggled her hidequarters and leaped, pulling the hare out of the burrow with razor-sharp claws. She swiftly delivered the killing bite to the helpless prey. The hare fell limp, brown fur stained by a stream of scarlet. Shard stepped back, survaying her handiwork. "A little on the slow side", she murmered. "nice catch", meowed a voice. Shard turned her head as a golden tom bounded down a sand dune. She tried not to look envious as his paws seemed to lightly brush the sand with ease. "Hi Weed", "did you catch anything", she mewed quizzicaly . "A toad", Weed wrinkled his black nose in disiust. "But you know what Silver says", he meowed, quoting the old Elder,"Be grateful for what you have" 'I see you have actually listened for once Weed", meowed a voice dryly. Weed looked sheepish as a silver tom padded into view. "Err... Shard and I were just practicing training", said Weed quickly. Shard nodded, unable to keep a straight face. Silver appraised them cooly. "Carry on then", he meowed solemnly, and padded away resolutely, tail raised like a banner.
