Hunting

Winterpaw looked around, "come on Darkpaw!" he yowled over his shoulder, him and Darkpaw were hunting and he had seemed to drop behind.

Suddenly Darkpaw jumped out from a bush on Winterpaws side toppleing him over "I scared you didn't I" He mewed good humordly

Winterpaw hissed, "oh ya, well take this!" Suddenly he jumped on top of Darkpaw.

"Get off of me you great lump" Darkpaw yowled as he fliped Winterpaw onto his back

Winterpaw laughed, "come on lets keep hunting" Than he bounded into the brambles.

'i bet i can cacth more prey then you could" Darkpaw challenged

"Oh really?" Winterpaw answered "your on!" And with that he bounded away in search of prey.

Darkpaw thought "I could cacht twices as much prey as him" with that he bounded off into the forest.

Winterpaw sniffed, soon he caught the scent of a sparrow. He looked around untill he spotted the bird pecking at some seeds on the snow. Carefully he dropped into a hunters crouch, he creeped along the snow paw by paw. Suddenly Winterpaw lept, flying over the snow like he had wings. Perfect! he landed on the sparrow and ended its life with a quick bit to it's neck. "Yes!" He thought out loud, "I'm off to a good start!"

Darkpaw was looking into the river "Come on there has to be at least one fish in here" Suddenly he caught an unfimiliar sent he spun around to see what it was and found himself face to face with a badger! He took off knowing that an apprentice could never beat a bager. As he was running through the woods he ran it some thing. "Winterpaw hurry get back to camp there is a badger out there, we need a warrior!"

Winterpaw stiffend, badgers only meant trouble to cats. "Well what are we waiting for, lets go!" He growled, than he through himself into the brush, not even bothering to see if Darkpaw was fallowing.
The two apprentices raced through the woods, twigs slapped at Winterpaws face and once he tripped over a log. When they finally reached the camp entrance, Winterpaw burst through and yowled at the top of his lungs, "There's a badger in the woods!"

"What!" Jayheart yowled

Oakclaw looked up from were he was munching on a vole, "did you say theres a bager in the forest!" He growled, just the thought of the large creatures made him grit his teeth.

"Yeah" Darkpaw mewed "I was fishing in the river and i turned around and there was this huge badger in front of me!"

Oakclaw felt his ears pulse with warm blood, " ok were going to need warriors, Jayheart, Brackenpelt, Eagleflight and I will go!" "Darkpaw, you'll need to lead the way, and Winterpaw go tell Ashstar were we've gone". "Yes Oakclaw!" Winterpaw meowed and bounded off too Ashstars den. Oakclaw waited untill all the warriors he had summond had come to his aid, "ok Darkpaw" he yowled as he stood up, "lead the way!"
